Fire Station Construction
He said that one of the moments that he remembers most as a firefighter, that the most difficult thing for the company at that time was preparing the radio for the second floor of the current barracks. They were divided into groups: - Some who prepared the cement mix at ground level. - A squad of firefighters volunteers where he was, hand-held the cement in coordinated rows of wheelbarrows. - Another group distributed, compacted and flattened the cement mix. - and a group that helped the previous ones with water and food. All this had to be done before the cement dried and the entire floor had to be finished so that it was compacted and smooth and then put the tiles. According to his account, it was a task that began in the morning and ended until late at night, a process that was the most difficult and delicate part of this construction.
Thus,
he worked for the firefighters until he became his
Superintendent
for several consecutive years until his retirement, passing to the honorary volunteer service.
He received many awards due to the countless works he did during his life and because he was one of the forgers of the advances and greatness of the city of
Los Andes.
